“On Day One we’re going to reestablish expectations of excellence in our schools. When my opponent was governor 88 schools failed to reach accreditation and rather than do the hard work in fixing them, he just lowered the standards so none would fail.”
Democrat politicians and pantywaist school officials are turning Virginia’s public schools into treacherous places where children are shot or raped by classmates enjoying second chances. Meanwhile, charter schools are a no-go. Test scores are abysmal. Magnet schools are being dumbed down. And children in Virginia are being left behind.
Terry McAuliffe demonstrated as governor that he will fight public charter schools.
He will oppose them regardless of the lifelong costs to the students of some truly pitiful Virginia public schools.
This is just the latest dirty trick by a desperate campaign to elect McAuliffe. One that will surely backfire. If the Democrat was down 8 points on Thursday, he should be down by 20 by the end of the weekend.
There is too much news today to limit ourselves to just one topic.
In his “Deskside Chat” yesterday, Aaron Spence spoke about teachers as if they’re toddlers in need of naps.
Chew on this: On October 7 McAuliffe claimed that 1,142 Virginia children were in ICU beds, when the total number of children in hospitals with Covid - not even in intensive care - was 35. Why would he lie about such things?
Why hasn’t Northam yet acted on Ronald Davis’ request for a pardon? No doubt he’s waiting till after the election to free hundreds more criminals. No point in highlighting his party’s soft-on-crime policies while McAuliffe is in such a tight race.
College football is the one place in America that has returned to pre-pandemic life. And it’s glorious.
Go back to Martha’s Vineyard, Obama. You’re out of touch.
I have found over the years that it is absolutely impossible to talk or embarrass the Richmond Public Schools into improving its schools. They simply don’t want to do it in any way that has a chance of working.
“A parent has a fundamental right to make decisions.” concerning the upbringing, education, and care of the parent’s child.”
The cynic in me has to wonder what’s really going on here. Is it possible that the teachers’ unions that are in the tank for McAuliffe want their members knocking on doors for the Democrat the day before the election?
Deeply unserious people are running the country. They’re joking, bottle feeding and giving incoherent speeches while the country struggles with shortages and runaway inflation.
This is not the demeanor of a man who wants to be governor or who thinks he’s going to win. It’s the slightly unhinged, irrational behavior of an arrogant candidate, indignant he actually has to campaign for office instead of being coronated.
Did I mention that the sole purpose of the PAC appears to be to attack Youngkin with lies so conservatives will not vote?
Instead of silly balloons I wonder why Nancy Guy isn’t cutting ads bragging about her vote for HB257? This law, which endangers the safety of all kids in Virginia, passed by TWO votes in the House. If she and one of her comrades had the courage to vote no, this bill would have failed.
VCU Medical trauma surgeon Michael Aboutanos said that VCU is experiencing a 121% increase in gunshot-wound victims from across the metro Richmond area. “This is a serious issue,” he said, “One we cannot ignore.”
