Republican Virginia Sheriffs Protect Communities from Criminal Illegal Aliens
Democrat led sanctuary cities refuse to cooperate with ICE—leading to murders and child rapes.
Only Republicans care about enforcing law and order in Virginia, and only Republicans honor law enforcement officers for upholding their oath of office. So says the American Constitutional Rights Union (ACRU), a conservative legal organization dedicated to protecting the constitutional rights of all American citizens.
The ACRU asked Virginians to report sheriffs to them who refuse to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ACRU recently honored law enforcement leaders at the forefront of protecting Virginia from illegal immigration.
Humanitarian Crisis
Illegal alien crime has ravaged Virginia. From child sex predators to murderers—Virginia’s communities have suffered from the open border’s policies of Democrats. Yet, there are some law enforcement leaders across the state stepping up to protect their communities.
The ACRU recently honored six sheriffs and the head of the Virginia State Police, Col. Matthew Hanley. The awards were for “honoring their constitutional oath to protect and to serve by working cooperatively with ICE to identify, process, and detain dangerous immigration offenders per Section 287(g).”
The sheriffs—all Republicans—receiving the award:
Michael Taylor, Pittsylvania County
Michael Miller, Bedford County
Steven Smith, Greene County
Winston “Whit” Clark, Campbell County
Michael Chapman, Loudoun County
Timothy Carter, Shenandoah County
In a statement to Restoration News, ACRU’s Executive Director Lt. Col. Allen West, USA, Ret., said:
The Commonwealth of Virginia has an issue with criminal illegal immigrants and there is only one political party that will rectify and resolve this situation according to the rule of law, placing the safety and security of the Commonwealth citizens above a deranged ideological agenda. That is the party of law and order, the Republican Party. Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears took an oath to support and defend our Constitution as a United States Marine...her oath has no statute of limitations.
The Republican party has proven their commitment to border protection and enforcement. On the flip side, Democrats pushing sanctuary policies for illegal aliens put Virginians in danger.
Violent Murderers and Child Rapists Lurking Across the Commonwealth
Restoration News has reported extensively on the heinous acts committed by illegal aliens across the nation, including in Virginia. Child rapists and murderers have been discovered all over the Commonwealth. Sanctuary cities and counties like Fairfax, Arlington, and Richmond shield these monsters from justice.
In one of the most heinous examples in Richmond, an illegal alien was pulled over for a traffic violation and officers discovered he was in possession of drugs and a concealed firearm. Sanctuary city leaders in the city released him on the condition of taking a firearm safety course and completing therapy. A year later he committed murder.
It’s not just sanctuary cities though. Thousands of Illegal alien criminals are even hiding in conservative neighborhoods. In Feb. 2024, a previously deported illegal alien from Honduras killed a college student in a drunk driving crash in Chesapeake. In May 2024, Guatemalan Anderson Jiminez Ramirez was arrested in Chesterfield for sexual assault and intercourse with a victim under 13. Similar stories can be found throughout the state.
It’s imperative that sheriffs uphold their oath of office to do all they can to protect the citizens of their locality.
One way of protecting Virginians from violent illegal alien criminals is to partner with ICE through the 287 (g) program. There are several models under this program that can be used by sheriffs to partner with ICE:
The Jail Enforcement Model: Designed to identify and process removable aliens — with criminal or pending criminal charges —arrested by state or local law enforcement agencies.
The Task Force Model: Serves as a force multiplier for law enforcement agencies to enforce limited immigration authority with ICE oversight during their routine police duties.
The Warrant Service Program: Allows ICE to train, certify and authorize state and local law enforcement officers to serve and execute administrative warrants on aliens in their agency’s jail.
Ask your local sheriff if they participate in these programs. If they aren’t, remind them of their duty to protect the citizens of their community. If aliens are living in their communities illegally, they must be held accountable and deported. Homeland Security is making it easy for self-deportations through the CBP Home App. Illegal aliens can register on the app and receive a free plane ticket home and a $1,000 exit bonus. We should root out those who violated America’s laws and choose not to take advantage of that generous offer.
Citizens can help by reporting what is happening in your locality. If your sheriff is cooperating with ICE through the 287 (g) program, let the ACRU know so they can recognize their good work.

Republican leaders have closed the border to protect Americans from an illegal invasion, and a majority of American voters approve of these actions. Now is the time to do more to get rid of millions of law breakers who remain in the nation.
