Biden’s Tyrannical Instincts

Nice try, Joe.

With your poll numbers tanking, the Afghanistan debacle fresh in American minds, the unrelenting migrant crisis raging on our Southern border, inflation at a 20-year-high and disappointing jobs numbers, yesterday you tried desperately to change the subject.

Biden did this by turning America into a medical apartheid country. The president vilified Americans who have not gotten vaccinated, reversed earlier promises that there would be no national vaccine mandates  and empowered OSHA to require all companies with more than 100 employees to force their workers to get vaccinated or show a weekly negative Covid test.

“We've been patient, but our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us," Biden huffed.

Turns out it’s Biden - not Donald Trump - who brought dangerous tyrannical impulses to the White House.

”We’re going to protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated,” Biden added yesterday as he outlined his latest list of vaccine mandates.

Huh?

If the vaccines work, why do the vaxxed need to be protected from the unvaxxed? Especially if this is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” as Biden repeatedly says.

Whatever.

To protect the vaccinated from the unvaxxed Biden threatened the livelihoods of tens of millions of Americans who have already decided not to take the vaccines.

If Biden thinks the unvaccinated will cry “Uncle” and roll up their sleeves he may be underestimating the determination of some not to become vaccinated.

That sound you heard Thursday evening was lawyers across the country starting their engines. These mandates will be challenged in court after court. It will just take one sympathetic federal judge to put the brakes on Biden’s authoritarian excesses.

You know who isn’t covered by Biden’s mandates? U.S. Postal Service workers. All half a million of them. Their powerful union protected them from this unprecedented overreach by the president.

You know another, even larger, group that escaped the gnarly grasp of this wheezing despot?

Welfare recipients.

There are 59 million Americans who receive federal assistance every month (44 million of those are in the SNAP program that provides food stamps.) The feds have lots of latitude regarding the restrictions they place on recipients.

They would be an easy group to pressure: No vaccine. No benefits.

So why have those on welfare been excluded from Biden’s mandates?

In a word: politics.

“This is not about freedom or personal choice," Biden sneered. "This is about protecting yourself and those around you, the people you work with, the people you care about, the people you love. My job as president is to protect all Americans.”

That’s rich.

This, from the guy who just left billions of dollars worth of military hardware and ammunition in the hands of bloodthirsty terrorists who want to kill us.

That’s right, Joe. As appalling as your announcement was yesterday we still haven’t forgotten that on the 20th anniversary of September 11th the world is a more dangerous place than it was in 2001 and our enemies are now armed with American weapons.

All because of you.

You didn’t change the subject yesterday, Biden. You gave America another reason to loathe you.
