AOC: Making Other Dems Look Sane
I’ve figured it out. I think I know why Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez constantly crop dusts America with loony ideas and flights of breathtaking stupidity.
She’s a shill.
She’s been set up by insiders in the Democratic party to spout screwball ideas. By comparison, others in the party look sane.
Take AOC’s latest plan to unleash hell on the country: She wants to abolish prisons.
Mass incarceration is our American reality. It is a system whose logic evolved from the same lineage as Jim Crow, American apartheid, & slavery," AOC Tweeted this week. "To end it, we have to change. That means we need to have a real conversation about decarceration & prison abolition in this country."
Make no mistake, she didn’t say prison reform. She said prison ABOLITION. So she wants to close prisons and spring murderers, rapists, child molesters, armed robbers, drug lords, mobsters, white supremacists, terrorists and Bernie Madoff and put them back on the streets. Lucky us.
After all, prisons are an American invention, according to AOC. Born of our racist past.
She’s quite the historian, isn’t she?
Guess those dungeons in medieval Europe were actually spas.
When you compare this slice of crazy - prison abolition - with Joe Biden’s recent bloviation that no one should be in prison for a non-violent offense, the former veep doesn’t sound quite so cracked, does he?
See how this works?
And when AOC shrugs off historically low unemployment rates by saying the stats are skewed because so many people have two jobs, it makes. Elizabeth Warren’s and Bernie Sanders’ demands for a federal minimum wage of at least $15 an hour sound thoughtful, doesn’t it?
Never mind that Forbes last month pointed out that Seattle’s experiment with the $15 minimum wage resulted in workers getting fewer hours and experiencing a net loss in pay.
And at an AOC townhall meeting last week a member of the audience - a plant, they say - claimed to be so distraught over climate change that she took the microphone and told AOC the world was so over populated that it was time to “eat the babies.”
The normal reaction to someone suggesting that baby back ribs be made out of actual infants - even if the person is a troll - would be to object and say that surely there are better ways to save the planet and that cannibalism isn’t on the table.
Not AOC. She carried on as if the woman had urged the audience to recycle their cans and drive economy cars.
By contrast, consider Kamala Harris’ response to a townhall question about whether government should take action to make Americans to eat less red meat.
"Yes," Harris responded, that should be "a real priority at the highest level of government."
Wait. Harris just said that the highest level of government should be focused on what we eat? Sorry, not a great example. This is a dippy idea, worthy of AOC herself.
