Pimping Out An Abortion For Social Media Clicks

Pimping Out An Abortion For Social Media Clicks

According to X, I joined Twitter in 2009, although I believe it was actually 2008.

Whatever.

In my 15-plus years on social media I’ve seen all manner of truly terrible things: Calls for assassination, porn, hate, live acts of terrorism, animal cruelty, you name it.

But last week I saw the absolute worst social media has to offer: A long, self-pitying post by a popular YouTuber about how he and his wife aborted their baby boy because prenatal testing showed the child might have Down Syndrome.

I pray this is something some sick man made up for clicks.

His wife was reportedly between 18 and 21 weeks pregnant at the time. That’s about five months, for those with impaired math skills.

The “father” gave a detailed post about the abortion, apparently expecting sympathy. He was “grieving” you see.

What he got instead was an outpouring of outrage. Parents who pointed out that tests showing Trisomy 21 can be wrong, others featured photos of their precious Down Syndrome children, still others showed Down Syndrome adults in folks in caps and gowns, wedding dresses, pointing out that intellectual abilities among those withe DS vary wildly.

The post was viewed 22.1 million times and I’m not linking to it here to avoid giving this depraved grifter any more clicks on his monetized link.

He began his post by listing the well-known health risks that can be associated with Down syndrome, including heart defects, hearing challenges and delayed physical development.

"Down Syndrome isn't a 'blessing,' it is objectively shitty from a health perspective. I didn't realize just how rough it is for the child, let alone the family...more often than not, they would be fully dependent on others for the rest of their life."

How rough it is for the child?

Here’s a thought, pal, why not ask someone with Down Syndrome if their challenges in life are “rougher” than being ripped from their mother’s womb?

He went on to justify this cold-hearted decision by saying 90% of children suspected of having Down Syndrome in the U.S. are aborted.

In other words, he and his wife are just doing what everyone else does!

It’s actually estimated that 67% of babies with that diagnosis are aborted. Whatever, it’s still shocks the conscience. At least these other people who aborted their babies had the decency to keep quiet about it.

Naturally, abortion enthusiasts supported the childless couple, demanding to know why the rest of us wanted to weigh in.

I had an answer:

Millions joined the chorus of opposition. Including Meghan McCain and House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Adding to the controversy were revelations that the childless YouTubers have been keeping their 6-year-old dog with kidney disease alive for more than a year through extraordinary - and no doubt hugely expensive - veterinary care.

Yet the thought of caring for a child who might have disabilities was too much for them.
