Left Mocks Charlie Kirk. Cries For Jimmy Kimmel.
Hold on. Are they serious?
The left is trying to turn the loathsome Jimmy Kimmel - whose abysmal ratings should have sunk his unfunny late night show years ago - into a victim.
Looks like lefties are getting their first taste of consequence culture and they don’t like it.
There’s only one victim in this whole ungodly mess and that’s Charlie Kirk, the man who went to college campuses and engaged respectfully with students who disagreed with him. He was shot in the neck by a deviant with a rifle.
Normal people were horrified. Evil people laughed.
Some of the folks who found Kirk’s assassination amusing or who decided that this was a the perfect time to say he had it coming, or that he was a fascist, have found themselves unemployed.
They’ve learned that you may have the right to speak in America, but that doesn’t mean your employer has to keep giving you a paycheck.
Odd that the same people who believe it’s OK to assassinate a man for his opinion think it’s unfair to lose their jobs for over theirs.
No sympathy for these haters. Enjoy the dole.
It isn’t cancel culture, by the way. It’s consequence culture.
Did these same people care when conservatives were deplatformed from Facebook and Twitter - at the urging of the Biden administration - for daring to question social distancing, masking and vaccine mandates?
Did they scream about free speech when the sitting president of the United States was banned from social media?
Did they care when Roseanne Barr was fired from her popular network comedy show over an ugly Tweet? (Barack and Michelle Obama personally appealed to Bob Iger to get her sacked.)
Did they care when Megyn Kelly was canned in 2018 by NBC over a stupid remark about blackface and Halloween?
Did they care when Gina Carano was tossed off The Mandalorian because of Tweets the Disney bosses didn’t like?
Did they care when a rodeo clown in Missouri wore an Obama mask and wound up banned from the ring for life?
Did they care when doctors who questioned the rigid covid orthodoxy lost their hospital privileges?
Of course they didn’t.
But Jimmy Kimmel is suspended from his late-night show and this is the hill they want to die on? They’re trying to turn this vulgar millionaire into a martyr?

Apparently this was what triggered the actions:
Kimmel had to know this was a lie. By Monday the whole world knew that despite being reared in a normal home, the alleged killer had veered far left and that he had a trans lover.
Yet Kimmel parroted those falsehoods anyway.
It’s being reported that he was prepared to double down on Wednesday with an odious screed attacking Kirk and conservatives. That’s when the ABC affiliates refused to air the show.
Frankly, I’m surprised Kimmel lasted as long as he did. If I’d been at ABC I would have demanded his exit after this:

Just one caveat about the Kimmel situation. The FCC needs to stay out of it. The free market takes care of those who urinate all over social norms. It has no tolerance for those who produce a product no one wants. No need for the government to be threatening the licensure of broadcast outlets that have offensive content.
That’s was a Biden administration tactic.
