When Will Activists Add 'M' to LGBT?

Leftists are trying to mainstream pedophilia as a type of sexual orientation.

"MAPS" stands for Minor Attracted Persons. Disturbingly, it's a term used by leftists to destigmatize pedophiles. The sexualization of our society has become so extreme that some "scholars" and psychiatrists want to normalize child molestation.

Will the acronym ultimately become LGBTM? And will it be celebrated during Pride Month?

It was once accepted by mainstream society that being transgender was a mental health issue. Now transgenderism is pushed as a matter of biology that must be accepted as truth—hence adding the "T" to the alphabet list. At this rate, "M" will be the next letter added and society will be pressured to accept MAPS as not a mental health issue, but a matter of biology.

Allyn Walker (they/them), a former professor at Old Dominion University who identifies as transgender, authored the book Minor Attracted People and Their Pursuit of Dignity. In a 2021 interview, Walker advocated using the term "MAP," claiming groups like B4UAct use the term because it is "less stigmatizing."

Why would anyone want to destigmatize molesting children?

Walker further claimed, "Using a term that communicates who someone is attracted to doesn’t indicate anything about the morality of that attraction." Seriously? Walker is asserting being attracted to children isn't immoral. Walker's interview drew public outrage, prompting Old Dominion University to put Walker on administrative leave. Ultimately, Walker resigned and took a position at Johns Hopkins University.

Will Pedophiles Become a Protected Class?

Some psychiatrists classify pedophilia as a type of sexual orientation:

Seto provides a third strategy in favor of the idea that pedophilia is an orientation. He argues that in the same way that homosexuality can be defined as a sexual orientation for gender, pedophilia can be defined as a sexual orientation for age.

When the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) diagnostic manual, the DSM-5, was first published in 2013, it referred to pedophilia as a sexual orientation under the phrase "Pedophillic Sexual Orientation." The liberal APA faced significant criticism over this language, and under pressure pulled the phrase in an update that recategorized pedophilia as a disorder rather than orientation.

Pro-pedophile groups such as the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA)—unsurprisingly based in San Francisco—is one organization advocating to get rid of age-of-consent laws. This group has a section on its website that publishes cartoons about pedophilia authored by a man in prison. NAMBLA also praises the work of B4UACT for their normalization of the MAPS term because they realize it helps their cause.

Many states, such as Virginia, have human rights laws that prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. If the APA and other leftist groups continue to push for pedophilia to be considered a sexual orientation, child molesters could become a protected class.

International Child Sex Crimes

Punishments for child sex crimes in other countries are becoming watered down. In 2024, Germany reduced the minimum punishment for child pornography possession from 1 year to 3 months. It is now only a minor misdemeanor crime.

Between 2013 and 2016 in El Salvador, 90 percent of cases of rape of children under 15 were not punished. In 2021, a report from Guatemala indicated only a quarter of cases of sexual violence against children reach a court.

Thanks to the Biden administration's open border policies, these child sex predators from Central American countries are harming American children. Just last year, a 5 year old child in Long Island was brutally raped by a Honduran illegal alien. Pedophiles harming children, whether they are American citizens or illegal aliens, should be prosecuted and treated as the monsters they are. The notion the term pedophile should be changed to destigmatize child molesters is outrageous. Leftists seeking to normalize the term MAP must be exposed so we can prevent "M" from being added as a protected class.
