Ignore The Polls. Vote.
These are scary times in Virginia. If you believe the political polls - and there’s no reason you should, they’ve been wildly wrong for years in the Old Dominion - we may be about to fork over all of state government to radical leftists.
It’s almost as if voters have forgotten what happened a short five years ago when Democrat Ralph Northam shut down schools for more than a year, locked us out of our churches and synagogues and forced even five year olds to walk around in filthy, useless face diapers.
God help us all if there’s another public emergency during a Spanberger governorship.
But even without a pandemic a Governor Spanberger would be dangerous. For a start she wants to dismantle Virginia’s Right-To-Work laws, so if you’ve dreamed of being forced to join a union, this is definitely your girl.
Oh, and if you’ve never lived in a state where municipal workers are unionized you may be unfamiliar with the joys of a sanitation workers’ strike. Buckle up, it could be coming.
Spanberger also wants to legalize abortion up until the moment of birth and is inclined to support euthanasia. If you’re a member of a death cult, you may find these extreme views appealing. Normal voters should be appalled.
She voted against the Laken Riley act - which requires Homeland Security to detain and deport non-citizens who are arrested for certain crimes - when she was in Congress and will embrace illegal aliens and turn Virginia into a sanctuary state. Not just for illegals, but also for minors seeking to mutilate themselves by rearranging their genitals without their parents’ permission.
Spanberger will re-install the revolving door on Virginia’s prisons and jails and will likely work to end cash bail so that criminals can be returned to the streets immediately after they’re arrested.
Spanberger will be a tool of the teachers’ unions. These leftists will be doing their happy dance with such a strong ally in the governor’s mansion. The same phony educators who lobbied Northam to close schools and then force students into masks and unscientific “social distancing” once they finally returned to their classrooms will be stronger than ever once they’re able to collectively bargain and strike
If you’re worried about taxes and the cost of electricity you might want to join the inevitable exodus from Virginia if the leftists prevail. They already forced Dominion Power to move away from fossil fuels and tied Virginia’s energy policies to California’s. Those money-sucking wind farms off the coast of Virginia Beach? The left is just getting started.
As bad as Spanberger is, Jay Jones is worse. His dreams of murdering his political opponents and their children should have horrified the Virginia electorate. Unfortunately, early voting may make him the next attorney general. Plus, there are hundreds of thousands of mindless Democrats who would vote for a man who has a soft spot for criminals and a loathing for cops before they’d vote for an excellent attorney general with an enviable track record. Someone like Jason Miyares.
As far as the lieutenant governor race, Ghazala Hashmi - who refused to debate the smart and articulate John Reid - is undeserving of any votes. While this is not the most powerful job: The lieutenant governor presides over the state senate and casts the occasional tie-breaking vote, this office is often a stepping stone to the Governor’s Mansion. Governor Hashmi? Let that sink in.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of this years’ race is the willingness of Democrats to stoop to chicanery to win. The same Dems who demanded Northam resign when a 30-year-old blackface photo emerged were strangely silent when Jay Jones’ three-year-old murderous text messages made headlines. If that wasn’t enough, they convened an 11th-hour special session of the General Assembly to amend the state constitution to bring back political gerrymandering.
Their most diabolical move? Shutting down the federal government - literally taking food away from impoverished Americans - in order to rile up federal workers and give them a day off to vote.
If you haven’t voted yet, get to the polls tomorrow. The left can be stopped, but it will take every voter.
