Bulldoze Hamas Fan Club Encampments

Any college president who can’t get his or her Jew-hating campus radicals under control should resign.

Immediately.

These pro-terror campus disruptions that are closing down swaths of common areas at some colleges have forced frightened Jewish students to leave or hide. It’s a sickening situation and far from a free-speech issue.

These disruptions are also unfair to the students who simply want to attend class and get an education. Earlier this week, the simpering president of Columbia University canceled in-person classes for the remainder of the semester because she cannot guarantee the safety of Jewish students who are the target of harassment, intimidation and assaults.

After empty threats of deadlines to pack up their tent cities passed there were reports that the Columbia administration began “negotiating” with the terror campers.

Here’s an idea: negotiate with bulldozers. These are criminal trespassers.

The University of Southern California just went a step beyond: School officials there canceled next month’s main commencement ceremony.

Consider this: Many of this year’s college seniors didn’t get to walk across the stage for high school graduation because of inane lockdowns during Covid. Now these same kids at USC are going to miss their chance to grip n’ grin for their proud parents when they get their bachelor’s degrees due to rampant anti-semitism.

Instead of depriving these students of their big day, the USC Hamas fan club ought to be arrested, the National Guard called in to protect the normal graduates and commencement should go ahead.

Well-coordinated and funded pro-terror encampments are springing up on other college campuses where anti-semites have seen that timid college presidents are reluctant to enforce codes of student conduct and trespassing laws. On top of that, radical professors are linking arms with the haters. George Washington University, Emory University, Northwestern and Harvard all have the same cookie-cutter tents springing up in common areas, despite empty threats to arrest the protesters.

It was a different story at the University of Texas. There, law enforcement - at the invitation of school officials - quickly disrupted a planned encampment. Students were told to leave and when they didn’t, they were arrested. At last count, 57 UT students were taken away in zip ties.

Don’t mess with Texas.

At Florida State University, rumors of a tent city were a washout when the school reportedly turned on sprinklers, transforming grassy areas into swamps.

Excellent. This isn’t hard.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson bravely waded into the Columbia cesspool on Thursday, castigating the university president:

We just can’t allow this kind of hatred and antisemitism to flourish on our campuses. And it must be stopped in its tracks. Those who are perpetrating this violence should be arrested,” Johnson said outside the school’s library.

I am here today joining my colleagues and calling on President Shafik to resign if she cannot immediately bring order to this chaos," he continued. "As speaker of the House, I’m committing today that the Congress will not be silent as Jewish students are expected to run for their lives and stay home from their classes hiding in fear.”

Those calling for the destruction of Israel and tormenting Jewish students are brainwashed brats whose parents are spending tens of thousands of dollars a year to send them to institutions where they’re being indoctrinated in left-wing, anti-semitic hatred.

Johnson also had some advice for them:

"Go back to class and stop the nonsense there. Look, if we want to have a debate on campus about the merits of these things, let’s do that. But you can’t intimidate your fellow students and make them stay home from class. Think about that. Is that right? Do you think that’s right?

“Stop wasting your parents' money," Johnson ordered.

At last, a grown up speaks.
