Tuesday’s Big Loser: Nancy Pelosi

Tuesday’s Big Loser: Nancy Pelosi

If there’s one thing we learned this week, it’s that political predictions are worthless.

What the heck, I’m going to make one anyway: Nancy Pelosi is going to be in the fight of her life to remain Speaker of the House when the new Congress convenes in 2021.

Under this octogenarian’s leadership it looks like Democrats lost at least 8 seats in the House, when they’d been gleefully predicting gains of about 15. The blame should fall on Pelosi.

Let’s face it, she’s a relic. Everything from her mannerisms to her childish behavior at the State of the Union Address grates upon all but the most partisan Americans. At one time Pelosi had decent political instincts. No longer. She capitulated to the far-left “squad” two years ago, she shrugged off statue-toppling hooligans with a “people will do what they do” last summer, and tacitly endorsed the defund-the-police-and-riots-are-really-just-peaceful-protests movement.

Those missteps were costly.

Don’t take my word for it. According to The Daily Caller, House Democrats had a caucus call yesterday and the representatives - especially the centrists - were livid.

The angriest was Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, who nearly lost her seat this week to Republican Nick Freitas. Spanberger trailed Freitas until Wednesday afternoon when someone found 14,600 Henrico votes on a memory stick “mislabeled” as “provisional ballots.”

And suddenly she was up by about 5,000 votes.

The Daily Caller reports that during the caucus call, Spanberger reportedly used colorful language to blame radical leftists for nearly costing her that seat.

Virginia Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger was reportedly the most vocal, saying Democrats should never say the word socialism again and that she almost lost her race because of the Defund the Police movement.

“We lost races we shouldn’t have lost. Defund police almost cost me my race because of an attack ad. Don’t say socialism ever again,” Spanberger reportedly said. Adding that the party needs “to get back to basics.”

Spanberger then reportedly said that “if we run this race again we will get fucking torn apart again in 2022.”

Oooh, watching lefties battle normal Democrats in Congress is going to be fun. Chances are, the first casualty will be Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.

Pass the popcorn.
