BREAKING NEWS: VIRGINIA BEACH CITY MANAGER DAVE HANSEN OUT
Sources tell kerrydougherty.com that at a closed-door meeting of Virginia Beach City Council last night, City Manager Dave Hansen was asked to resign.
During a “passionate” debate, which saw council members Louis Jones and Barbara Henley defending the embattled city manager and opponents, led by Aaron Rouse arguing that he should be fired, it became clear there were more than enough votes to sack the manager. That’s when Hansen said he’d resign.
Notice of his resignation was sent to all city employees by email this morning.
