Everybody’s a Victim: Katie Hill Edition
Poor Katie Hill.
This woman of wokeness, the darling of California Democrats, is leaving the House of Representatives in disgrace. She resigned halfway through her first term after an ethics investigation was launched into an alleged sexual relationship she had with one of her aides.
No fair!
She only got to wear her white pants suit once.
Hill’s not going quietly. She’s in full victim mode. The congresswoman alternately blames her estranged husband, conservative media and the president for her troubles.
She’s clearly a disciple of Hillary. They both seem incapable of accepting responsibility for their mistakes.
This is the opposite of what one would expect of “gutsy” women. Yet that’s how these ladies like to think of themselves. In fact, “The Book of Gutsy Women” is Hillary’s latest literary endeavor. Save your money. It’ll be in the bargain bin soon at Barnes & Noble. Next to her other books.
The sole reason Katie Hill’s in trouble is an alleged intimate relationship with a staffer. A House rule, enacted last year, forbids members of Congress from having sex with subordinates.
Can you believe that until 2018 Congress members were free to canoodle with underlings?
As if allegations of an ill-conceived love affair weren’t bad enough, nude photos recently surfaced of Hill with a campaign aide.
Embarrassing. But not part of the ethics probe. Hill accused her husband of peddling this “revenge porn.”
Maybe he did. But someone should tell Ms. Hill that there’s a way to avoid viral nudies. Don’t pose for them in the first place. You’re a politician for Christmas sakes. Think before you say “cheese” in your birthday suit.
In her indignant farewell speech yesterday, Hill griped about being held to a double standard.
Nonsense.
She’s just the latest member of an infamous club of abusive politicians who had to crawl out of Congress, red faced and scorned after they engaged in misconduct.
For instance, there were nine members who bolted in the six months between October 2017 and April 2018 over ethical problems. One was a woman.

Rep. Patrick Meehan, R-Pa, sent a love note to a staffer and paid her $39,000 in tax money as a settlement when she complained.
Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas, accused of sexually harassing staffers.
Rep. Elizabeth Esty - D-Conn, (the only woman on this list) Kept an aide on staff after he’d threatened to kill another staffer, whom he’d dated.
Rep. Ruben Kihuen, D-Nevada, accused of sexual harassment.
Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn, serial groper of women.
Rep. Trent Franks, R-Arizona, offered a female staffer $5 million to have his baby.
Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., multiple women alleged unwelcome sexual advances.
Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, nude photos emerged, revealing an extra-marital relationship.
Rep. Tim Murphy, R- Pa, married and asked his mistress to have an abortion even though he was supposedly anti-abortion.
Hill may be angry, but let’s look on the bright side. Her sex scandal is a sign that at least one woman finally achieved full equality with the worst men in Congress.
